Outdoor Activity Instructor Information Evening

Need a gap year? or a change in career? Not sure what course to do in September?
Are you more comfortable at the top of a mountain after a hike or feeling the rush of rapids in a Kayak.
The Outdoor Activity Instructor Traineeship is a fully funded course where all equipment is provided. This programmes offers you the opportunity to become an Outdoor Instructor in less than 1 year. Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board invite you to Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre to find out more on Thursday 7 July from 6-8pm. At this event you will hear from past students and even try out our new climbing wall.
CMETB and The aim of this award is to enable the learner to develop knowledge, skills and competencies in a range of outdoor sport and recreation activities, to allow them gain employment in a variety of outdoor recreation contexts and/or to progress to further and/or higher education and training. In addition to Level 5 QQI Outdoor Instructor Award learners will also receive a range of Governing Body Qualifications, increase their levels of fitness and improve their confidence and communication when working in groups.
Mountaineering Ireland require individuals to be 18 years of age when registering for Rock Climbing. Individuals under this age can only achieve the QQI module in Rock Climbing.
This course is funded and equipment is provided to you throughout the course. Individuals do not need to be strong swimmers or have a high level of fitness. Individuals should however, have a general level of fitness and mobility and be free from injury in order to complete the course in full.
Employment Statement
This course will increase opportunities for employment in all areas of the Outdoor Industry for example working as an Instructor in Outdoor Centres, working as as a freelance instructor or working on as a self employed provider.
