Dartrey Forest and Amenity Park

Cootehill Area Development Ltd. in cooperation with Monaghan Co. Co. , their Tourism Department , Coillte and Erica’s Fairy Forest have initiated plans to upgrade existing facilities at their 10 acre Mature Woodland Park which Cootehill Area Development originally purchased from Coillte back in 2012 after ongoing consultation and Part 8 Planning process which started back in 2008 with Coillte and both County Councils.
The Paul Hogarth Company , Landscape Architects carried out their design concepts on site in consultation with Cootehill Area Development and Erica’s Fairy forest committees to finalize proposals to coordinate interpretative signs to connect and sign post Dartrey , Black Island with our Community Amenity Park including Erica’s Fairy Forest. This park also includes the Community Walk A Bout Coffee Dock , Band Stand, Accessible walking and angling facilities, Tanagh Outdoor activity Persuits , Forest Schools, Park Run, Cycling , Happy Feet walkers and weekly Mobile Sauna and open water swims.
Funding has been partly secured from Community and Enterprise Recreational Funding through Minister Heather Humphry’s department.
